Indian Rugs
The Indian rugs are made by the Indian peoples. As there are a lot of Indian tribes, they are differentiated with their culture, traditions, customs and religions, and the Indian rugs are the other confirmation of this. In the process of history some Indian tribes disappeared and then there appeared some new tribes, and the traditions of some tribes were borrowed from the disappeared ones, and the traditions of making Indian rugs were borrowed in the same way.
As there are different types of traditions connected with some spheres of everyday life of Indian tribes, which were passed from generation to generation, the traditions of making Indian rugs were much integrated and developed being added and mixed up constantly.
So, we can say about the Indian rug craftsmanship traditions, that they are the means to make the Indian rugs the reflections of the culture and thinking of different Indian tribes, and that’s why the Indian rugs as works of art are the reflections of the process of never-ending movement of the developing of the traditions of the Indian tribes.
