So, bed rugs made in the North America since the Colonial times, have a long story which has began from the 15th century. In different times there are appeared different styles of bed rugs with different purposes. Actually, there were the times bed rugs weren’t made as floor coverings, and that’s just something strange, but bed rugs were rare in the Colonial North America times as bed coverings first. So, blankets which are the bed coverings or the bed rugs actually became widely popular and used in the 16th century, and the colors of bed were white, blue, red green, so there were all the different but light colors, and there sometimes even the stripes of colors. So, the manufacturing of bed rugs or the blankets increased with the improving of their quality in time, and they began to be bought only by rich people since the middle of 18th century. But a little later, in the 18th and in 19th centuries there were appeared the bed rugs with quite different styles and designs than earlier ones, and the people preferred the hand made bed rugs to imported ones because of their patriotism and great will. |
